The Problem with Dating Kindle Edition
He’s the last person I want to fake date. But when the snooty, uptight restaurant owner desperately needs my help to train his pooch, we strike a deal –I’ll turn his dog into the town's best-behaved pet, and in return, he’ll be my arm candy for a few family events and social gatherings. Simple, uncomplicated, and absolutely not romantic—at least, that is what we told ourselves.
With every pretend touch and lingering glance, I can't help but wonder: Is this fake relationship with Alex secretly penning its own authentic ending? Or am I risking it all for someone who is nothing more than make-believe?

- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2023Welcome to Honey Creek, IL, where traditions are strong, gossip is rampant, everyone knows your business, and Yara Kingsley is the town sweetheart. She welcomes new residents with a cheerful smile and will do anything to make their transition to a new town easier.
Except for Alex Ramirez, the owner of the new upscale, fusion restaurant. He doesn’t want to be integrated into his new town, he doesn’t want to make friends, and he most definitely wants nothing from Yara. That is, until he inherits an ornery dog from his great aunt, and Yara seems to have the magic touch with dogs. Not surprising, since she owns the only doggy daycare in town.
Maybe these two can reach a détente in their bickering, as well as an agreement. Yara's ex husband refuses to leave her alone, but if she's dating someone, he might back off. Alex agrees to be Yara's fake boyfriend if she'll use her dog whispering skills on his pernicious pup.
Alex and Yara are as opposite as two souls can be, and it was only a matter of time before this grump and his sunshine combust. Once they flip the coin from hate to love, they're magnificent together, each bringing out the best in the other.
I love the quirk and charm of the small-town setting, and the sweet, serendipitous surprises are poignantly beautiful. A true delight to read, this sweet, enchanting, heartfelt love story is guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face and a happy sigh in your heart!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2024Yara and Alex are business neighbors and apartment neighbors, they have a series of not so meet cutes, and deliver perfectly on the grumpy/sunshine vibes! It’s a clean romance that kept me totally engaged. It’s really a story! You go through the whole relationship with them. Feel them grow, swoon over the glimmers that really show the shift from semi enemies to fully in love!
The small town of Honey Creek gives you drama but also all the feels. The letters from Teresa and Mr. Parker almost took me out! The flashback of Alex and Teresa outside the theater?! All of the elements toward the end that pull everything together tugged HARD at my heart! There were just so many noteworthy, heart wrenching, and hysterical moments I ate this up and definitely recommend for my girls who want to really engage in the falling!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2025I’m always down for a fake dating romance! Pair the ebook with the audiobook for quite the experience! The small town romance is wonderful.
Meet Yara…she’s starting over but having trouble in the small town….is she damaged goods? Will she find love again?
Next we have Alex…who is sooooooo dark and bristley…but he’s got a lot of ish going on….and guess what? They hate each other!
Join in the adventure and watch what happens with this grumpy/sunshine….
So many memorable moments…..I loved falling in love with them.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2023I always adore B. Cherry reads! The Problem with Dating is a lovely lighthearted yet deep and emotional story. Alejandro is as dreamy as can be, hilarious with his sarcasm and brute-ness, and has a beautiful transition from darkness to light. Yara is a STUNNING character. Her wit, her humor, her inner thoughts were cracking me up and more often than not, I was nodding my head in agreement with her.
Over the last few months I’ve dove into some dark romance/fantasy reads, so this read was much needed to bring the sunshine back into my mental. I absolutely loved it!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2024But, wow, was it slow! I won't lie after a few times trying to get into this I skipped the chapter 12 or 13. From then on, it was a good read. It's a slow burn story with well written characters, so if thats your cup of tea, I would recommend this book. I prefer something with a bit more steam, and this was pretty clean ( the most they do is kiss). 3/5 will not be purchasing.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2023I have been a fan of Brittainy's books for years. Usually her stories deals with tremendous loss, depression and just down right heartbreak. I have noticed her last two books I have read is taking a turn towards some humor/comedy and I love it.
Alex /Alejandro is facing his toughest battle yet, saying goodbye to his great-aunt Teresa who has raised him when he was abandoned by his parents. He has created a state of the art restaurant in the small town of Honey Creek which his late aunt insist he set up shop there.
Yara is dealing with a divorce and a ex-husband who refuses to let her move on.
Yara has a bubbling personality and Alex is the opposite he is like anti-people. What could these two have in common.? I truly enjoyed how Ms. Cherry gave us the backstory of our hero/heroine and let us the readers know why they are the way they were. I am always a sucker for small town love story throw in some humor comedy and I am in. I truly enjoy Ms. Cherry writing directions. And realizing this is a start of a new series am here for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Small-Town Feel-Good book
This is fantastic heartwarming and charming small-town romance.
Honey Creek, the quaint little town where the story unfolds, provides all the small-town shenanigans and warm-heartedness you could ask for.
Alex Ramirez is from the big city, and he's opening a high-end restaurant in this tight-knit community. This sets the stage for an endearing clash of worlds. Yara, the epitome of sweetness and grace, couldn't be more different from the grumpy and somewhat aloof Alex, creating a perfect grumpy/sunshine dynamic.
One of the standout elements of this book is the banter between Yara and Alex, which is absolutely fantastic. Their exchanges inject a light-hearted charm, making it impossible not to smile as you follow their interactions. Watching these two opposites gradually come together is a real treat.
It's worth noting that this book isn't a steamy romance, and this is actually one of its strengths. The focus on the emotional connection between the characters and the development of their relationship takes center stage, allowing the sweetness and charm of the story to shine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ptiteaurel - The Lovely Teacher Addictions
